About

Indian Orchard is a School‐wide Positive Behavior Supports school. PBIS is based on principles of applied behavior analysis and the prevention approach and values of positive behavior support. There are many incentives created in order to support this program. Student earn tickets for positive behaviors and can buy classroom and school wide incentives with their tickets.

We have many educational programs at Indian Orchard Elementary School that are aimed at improving our students' academic performance. We run a tutoring program, paid out of our Title I money, before and after school hours in the areas of Math and Reading. The program is offered to students in grades 3-5. We match the intervention with each student's need in order to help close the gap that exists in their learning. Currently the DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) has determined Indian Orchard to be a Level 3 school.

Indian Orchard's Instructional Focus is:

  • At IOE we speak and write to explain our thinking.
  • Focus is on research-based best practices that impact student learning.
  • Instruction is differentiated in order to meet the needs of all our students.
  • Literacy is a focus across all content areas.
